      Food bank celebrates new space

      Tuesday afternoon the Food Bank celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony.

      It's the first store front food bank ever in Missouri. There is now a brand new space for the Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, located in the Lincoln Square Shopping Center in KirksvilleTuesday afternoon the Food Bank celebrated with a ribbon cutting ceremony.The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri partners with elementary schools across the region to provide backpacks filled with nutritious foods that children in need can take home on weekends or when school is out on breaks. ??We've always wanted to have our own location and make it more visible for the public and this is something that is very accessible so this is huge,?? said Executive Director Peggy Kirkpatrick.The Buddy Pack program serves 114 kids in Kirksville and packs bags for four other counties.Previously, the food bank was operating the Buddy Pack Program in a facility donated by the Crossing Church.
