Food Bank delivers for a good cause

Forklifts pushed hundreds of pounds of pork Wednesday for a good cause.

The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri delivered food from their Invest an Acre Campaign.

People donate money to it. In return, food for people in need gets back to the community.

Trucks have been driving up from Columbia all week to deliver the food.

The Christian Community Food Deport received Wednesdayâ??s delivery.

Susan Dublin, Regional Coordinator for The Food Bank for Central and Northeast Missouri, says getting this meat is important to people in need.

â??This is a new campaign that is providing lots of protein to all our counties. Weâ??re excited about it. This is really important to try and get protein to them. It can be used in spaghetti sauces and chili and anything that you want to put it in. Itâ??s a very flexible product as well,â?? Dublin said.

This week The Salvation Army in Kirksville and a Milan food pantry also received food.

Other items included canned fruit and vegetables.
