Friends of the Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery Committee finalized plans for a special event this Memorial Day Weekend.
Group members will be at the Kirksville cemetery Sunday and Monday afternoon.
There, they'll be handing out maps and answering questions about graves. Tables will also be set up and 'Battle of Kirksville' pins and booklets will be sold for a dollar, and donations will be accepted.
Those donations will go toward improvements in the cemetery, including restoration of tombstones and the brick veneer at the front gate. This is the first time in many years that committee members will be present at the cemetery Memorial Day Weekend.
"We will be sitting there to answer questions, help you find a grave if you don't know where a loved one is buried or a friend, and we will have maps available and just be there to assist you," said Dwight Buckingham, Committee Chairman.
Those members will be at the cemetery from noon until 4:00 p.m. both Sunday and Monday.
