Free program offers test practice, skill building and career preparation

The Iowa Legislature renewed funding for a program called LearningExpress Library through 2014.

Iowa Workforce Development will provide $150,000 in funding to Iowa Library Services and the State Library to continue offering LearningExpress for free. The website can be accessed on any computer and provides practice tests, skill building opportunities and career preparation in the form of e-books, videos and tests.

"I just think it's an investment that the state legislature made for us that benefits everybody in the community, not just one segment," said Sonja Ferrell, Director of the Ottumwa Public Library. "So whether you're a job seeker or a student at that next stage in your education, there's something for everybody on here at every stage of life."

LearningExpress lets you study at your own pace and also keeps track of test results and previously completed programs so you can keep track of your progress.
