Friends of Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery Committee to host theatre show
The Friends of Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery Committee met Tuesday night to discuss upcoming events.
The Committee, Kirksville Tourism, and the Curtain Call Theatre Company are teaming up to kick off the 'All American Red, White, and Blue Festival' on Thursday night. Beginning at 5:30 p.m., members of the theatre company will be putting on a show at the cemetery. They will be reenacting the lives of those that are buried there. Some of those individuals include Jesse Kirk and the Stills.
"It's a very historic cemetery with the founder of Kirksville, many historic people, prominent people buried there, that helped build this community. They were the pillars of this community," said Dwight Buckingham, Chairman of the Friends of Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery.
Members of the Cemetery Committee will also be present to give tours of the cemetery. They will be pointing out the graves of those buried there. The theatre show will run from 5:30 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. The cost of the show is $5 for adults and $2 for children.
