Fugitive wanted from SWAT raid in custody

A Kirksville man wanted on multiple felony charges is now in custody.

Jackie Potter, 35, had been wanted on charges of manufacturing meth, three counts of burglary, three counts of stealing, seven counts of stealing a firearm and one count of unlawful possession of a firearm. He is currently being held in the Adair County jail under $75,000 cash only bond.

Potter was arrested Friday morning at a residence near Novinger, Mo. after receiving a tip on his location. Adair County Sheriff Bob Hardwick and Missouri State Highway Patrol Trooper Cary Porter responded to the residence following the tip. Potter was taken into custody without incident.

Potter was away from his mobile home in the Westbury Trailer Park last week when the Kirksville Police Department Special Response Team arrived to serve a search warrant.

When they entered the trailer no one was present, however, officers found a large number of stolen weapons. Kirksville police say there are still a number of guns that remain unaccounted for.

Kirksville police say this is still considered to be an open investigation.
