Thu, 31 Jul 2014 21:56:44 GMT — Local kids in first and second grade attending the summer day camp held by the Wapello County 4H Extension Office learned all about "Fun-damental Science" on Thursday. The extension office has a variety of different camps they put on during the summer. Next week they will be having day camps about forces of nature and "a palette of fun." Camp teachers say it provides a different environment for the kids than what they usually get to experience."They don't get a lot of experience doing hands on science. A lot of things we go are really messy and we have, through Iowa State, access to a great STEM curriculum and it's full of wonderful ideas for kids for them to have that hands-on science process," said summer day camp teacher Gina Martin.
