Granting a wish for Heartland organizations

The Missouri Humanities Council sponsored a grant workshop.

Competition for money is fierce in the business world and nonprofit organizations are no different.

Some local nonprofits are receiving a lesson in how to apply for and write a grant. A free workshop was held Friday morning at the Kirksville Arts Center.A professional grant writer from the Missouri Humanities Council was on hand to instruct participants about what goes into writing and receiving a successful grant. The MHC board awards grants to local programs and projects that are based in the humanities--subjects such as history, archaeology, anthopology, literature, religion, law, philosophy and languages.
