As he's done every year for more than three decades, U.S. Sen. Charles Grassley plans to hold at least one meeting in each of Iowa's 99 counties in 2014.
He's not waiting long to get started.
He'll hold his first events Jan. 3 with stops in the northeast Iowa cities of Nashua and Charles City.
Grassley has met with residents of all the state's counties every year since he was elected to the U.S. Senate in 1980.
In a news release, he says "representative government is a two-way street" that is strengthened by discussions between officials and the people they represent.
