The Green City FFA Chapter placed third in the livestock career development event (CDE) at the 86th Missouri FFA Convention. There were 60 teams in the competition.
Green City team members are Natalie Ayers, Hadley Williams, Zachary Ayers, and Raeann Kilgore. Natalie Ayers placed 14th, Williams placed 20th, Zachary Ayers placed 32nd, and Kilgore placed 88th out of 220 participants. The Green City advisors are Jonna and Rick Ayers.
Participants in the contest evaluate beef, sheep and swine using performance records and physical appraisals. The team members present oral reasons on three of six classes they judged to defend and explain the placing of the class.
Sponsored by University of Missouri College of Agriculture, Food and Natural Resources, this CDE is one way the FFA prepares student members for career success. CDEs engage student learning and make a real connection to lifetime goals.
