On Saturday, St. Patrick's Day was celebrated throughout northeast Missouri. One town that happens to have the word "green" in its name, went all out, to show off their Irish pride.
For the fourth year, Jeff Watkins, co-owner of The Bank, has been organizing the annual St. Patrick's Day Parade in Greentop, Missouri.
Watkins spoke with KTVO about the parade, and what it means for the community.
"This is a great day for it. We had exceptional turnout all the way down Main Street and straight back to the park. I couldn't have asked for a better day," said Watkins.
The parade had anything and everything you would expect; floats, free candy for the kids and of course Irish pride.
For Watkins, seeing the people of Greentop and of the surrounding communities come out for this event is worth the hard work.
"Seeing the people come out and be involved in it, everything about it excites me to death, it really does," said Watkins.
Watkins told KTVO next year's parade is going to be even bigger.
"This is our fourth year, our fifth year is going to be even bigger and better," said Watkins.
