Market on Main is now just days away from groundbreaking.
On Monday, the official groundbreaking ceremony will be held at its future building at Jefferson St. and main.
On Friday, people got a taste of what is to come.
Market on Main hosted Fridayâ??s Lunch in the Park. The lunch included pork tenderloins and fresh sweet corn that was delivered this morning from local farmers.
Market on Main is all about local and fresh food thatâ??s exactly what you could find.
â??In addition to hosting lunch in the park, we asked our vendors to come out, give everybody a taste of what to expect and that's what they're here for. We have different baked goods, both regular and gluten free. We have produce farmers; we have a meat vendor as well as a honey vendor. We wanted to give everybody an example of what it's going to be once we open early next year,â?? said Heather Ware, Market on Main Director.
The groundbreaking ceremony will start at 10 a.m. Monday. From there, construction will be in full swing.
Ware said she is excited for this long awaited day.
