"Pray Across Missouri" is an organization that has taken on the challenge of praying at every county court house in Missouri. On Tuesday, they were in Knox County.

Out of the 114 counties, Knox County is its 84th location.

The group, which is based in Jefferson City, is praying outside of each court house not for political reasons, but to say, "thank you," to government officials.

Executive Director Dr. John Yeats said they often go unthanked for the work they do.

"This journey has been about praying and encouraging people ... who work in the counties. That's what lights my fire," Yeats said.

The group did not want its message confused as a political one.

"I knew this was going to be a big job, and I said I think we can do this. What I would like to do is wait until the elections are over," said Liaison to the Executive Office Spencer Hutson.

In each area "Pray Across Missouri" travels to, they reach out to local leaders who help them connect to the residents.

"I think Dr. Yates is doing a wonderful job in reaching out all of the counties. I think it's an awesome thing," said Pastor Dan Steinbeck.

The group traveled to a few other counties and will travel finish its task in northeast Missouri by the end of the month.

They intend to reach all 114 counties by spring of next year.
