Grown man arrested for throwing rocks

Throwing rocks at cars has landed a 20-year-old Moberly man in jail.

The Moberly Police Department says it arrested Roger Shumate and four juveniles on Friday, September 13, 2013, after they received a report from an witness who observed Shumate and the juveniles throwing rocks at vehicles, causing damage to the windows.

After investigating the complaint, police determined that the group was responsible for damaging 58 vehicles in the Moberly area.

Shumate is being charged with Tampering with a Motor Vehicle and is being held in the Randolph County Jail on $10,000 bond.

The charge is a Class "C" Felony.

The juveniles were turned over to the Randolph County Juvenile Office.
