Couples and families had a chance to celebrate Valentine's Day this past weekend while helping raise money for a great cause.
The La Plata Christian Ministries Food Pantry held their 4th annual Valentine Luncheon at the Sliver Rails Event Center in La Plata Sunday afternoon.
About 100 people showed up to the good will donation for lunch as they helped themselves to sloppy joes and side dishes along with desserts while at the same time raising money for the food pantry.
"It makes me feel really good that they know there is a need and they want to support us. Just to get our name out there. Our clients are on the rise right now needing help with the weather and things," said Stephanie Allen of The La Plata Christian Ministries Food Pantry.
All the food served at the event was given by donations from local area businesses.
Allen said that she already has big plans for next year's event.
