A little over 6,000 people in northeast Missouri are still without health insurance coverage, and the clock is ticking to apply for it.
With the March 31 open enrollment deadline quickly approaching, the Northeast Missouri Health Council and the Missouri Foundation for Health will be sponsoring a Health Insurance Marketplace informational presentation this coming Thursday.
That will be held from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Adair County Annex Building in Kirksville.
Health council representatives want to continue spreading the word that they're still here to help.
"We are wanting people to come, get information, come and see. We have answers to your questions. We can show you what we can be done to help you," said Brenda Mitchell of the Northeast Missouri Health Council.
Mitchell says it's important everyone gets the right information in order to apply for the healthcare plan that's right for them so they won't be hit with a penalty for not having coverage by the March 31 deadline.
