The Ottumwa North Hy-Vee hosted a healthy kids night with lots of fun activities encouraging children to lead healthy and active lifestyles.
Dizzy the clown got the kids, and even a few adults, moving and dancing, showing everyone what her Dizzercise classes that she teaches at the Ottumwa YMCA are all about. Dizzercise is a fun and active class for kids. There are two classes for two different age groups: one for kids ages 4-6, and the other for kids in the first through fifth grades. Those classes run from Sept. 18 through Oct. 26, and the deadline to sign up is Sept. 16. The sign-up fee is $20 dollars for YMCA members and $40 for non-members. The night was also a collaboration of local health groups getting kids excited about being healthy.
â??We've got a dentist group over here telling kids about healthy teeth and brushing and of course we have dizzy the clown dancing, getting them excited and up and moving, so many thing going on tonight,â?? Tom Sisler, Ottumwa YMCA executive director said. â??We also have a blood pressure check, just telling and teaching kids about being healthy and fit and getting active.â??
