Heartland ambulance director facing felony sex related charges

A Clark County man, formerly from Kirksville, is behind bars facing several felony charges.
Richard "Mike" Koenig, 35, of Kahoka, was taken into custody at his residence early Wednesday morning.
Koenig is charged with 1st degree sodomy, endangering the welfare of a child and incest. He is being held at the Clark County Sheriffâ??s Office on $100,000 bond.
Koenig has been ambulance director for Clark County since April of this year.
Clark County Sheriff Paul Gaudette said that the Kahoka Police Department fielded the initial complaint and that the case was turned over to the Missouri Highway Patrol's Division of Drug and Crime Control.
Koenig was also the owner of the former It's Time Cafe (click on the link to see former story) in Kirksville that opened in October 2012. It was located on the east side of the square and closed a few months after opening.
