Heartland church celebrating the start of bible school
One Heartland church pumped up some kids early Sunday evening for a fun week ahead.
The Crossing Church in Kirksville held their Crossing Kids Live Kickoff event. There was a BBQ and pool party at the Aquatic Center.
About 150 kids along with their parents enjoyed a fun filled evening splashing around and enjoying some hot dogs.
All to prepare them for the fifth annual vacation bible school event.
"We want to show kids God's love and that we want to show them that we are here and that we care about them and we want to invest in this community," said Crossing Children's Director Sarah George.
Crossing Kids Live will be taking place this Monday through Wednesday at The Crossing Church from 6:30-8:30 p.m.
George added that the VBS will have all different types of activities. They will range from worship, a live drama production, games, and crafts.
It's open to ages three through 5th grade. You can sign up online at www.thecrossing.net or at the Crossing Kids Live booth in the lobby of The Crossing.
