One Heartland organization began a new Easter tradition this year.
Families and children lined up around the Downtown Kirksville Square Saturday afternoon.
It was all for the Kirksville Kiwanis' Easter Parade.
Community groups and leaders walked around the square giving out Easter greetings and of course candy for the kids. Even the Easter Bunny himself made an appearance at the parade.
Entry fees to walk in the parade consist of a nonperishable food item. All contributions will go to the Kirksville Salvation Army Food Depot.
The Kiwanis Club hopes to have the parade again next year.
