Area producers gathered at the Putnam County High School Wednesday for an annual informational.
The University of Missouri Extension Office hosted the 2014 Putnam County Ag Information night, which is said to be an informative event for area producers, gardeners and landowners. Throughout the night, there were several sessions offered pertaining to current agricultural laws and regulations that may affect production in the Missouri area. Several MU extension specialists were in attendance to present each topic.
Ag Business Specialist, Joe Koenen, says there was a lot to celebrate at the informational.
??Well this is kind of a special year because it's the 100th anniversary of cooperative extension, as well as in Putnam County, it will be the 75th anniversary of the Putnam County fair in September so we have a couple things to celebrate this year,?? said Koenen.
There was also a designated meal time and dessert auction in between first and second sessions. The meal was catered by the Putnam County Extension Council. All proceeds from the dessert auction will go toward the up-keep of the 4H and extension offices.
