Heartland residents are cleaning up fallen trees from storms

Work continued Tuesday in Kirksville to clear storm debris. Storms that moved through on Sunday included strong winds that exceeded 60 miles per hour. Few structures were damaged in the storms, but tree limbs came crashing down in many neighborhoods.

Many companies will come right to your door to remove the debris. Ronnie Newcomer and Raymond Hilderbrandt of R&R Brush Removal were out and about Tuesday helping clear tree limbs and branches.

â??We're just going cheaper trying to help people out because I know it can't be good having a tree fall on your yard or on your house,â?? Hilderbrandt said. â??We don't want to make a lot of money. Just something to get us by.â??

In Kirksville, twigs and limbs less than four feet long and two inches in diameter may be disposed of for free. Those may be taken to the Public Works facility at 2001 N. Osteopathy between 7 a.m. and 4 p.m., Monday through Friday.
