Heartland residents remember loved ones as they run

A few Heartland residents woke up early on a chilly Saturday morning to run in remembrance of someone they love.
The Remember Run is a 5K run and one mile walk sponsored by Hospice of Northeast Missouri.
40 people participated in this year's race, which started in Rotary Park.
This is the second year Hospice has held the run, but this year organizers added a celebration of life balloon release to give families and friends a chance to remember someone special in their life.
â??Being able to come out and run in honor of somebody that they love, and then to do the balloon release, it was just a symbol of just taking a moment out of their day, out of their life to remember that special person. For some that is a way to grieve, for some people that's some closure, and for some it's just a fun way to again, remember the loved ones in their life,â?? said Stephanie Byrum, Executive Director for Hospice of Northeast Missouri.
