Heartland school increases security
Many schools across the United States and here in the Heartland are taking measures to ensure student safety.
Adair County R-1 Schools in Novinger have installed a security system that requires all visitors to be buzzed in to the school building during the school day.
Superintendent Rick Roberts said they finished installing the system just as the school year was starting.
He said it's been a good addition to the school.
â??It is a small community, but anything can happen at anytime. We just want to make sure the kids are safe,â?? Roberts said.
Adair County R-1 has 270 students this year.
