A Heartland woman is being recognized nationwide for her hobby turned career.
Shelly Pagliai of New Cambria has been quilting since she was 12-years-old in 4-H.
She started off quilting by hand then later she purchased a sewing machine to start making quilts for other people. Soon after this... she called quilting her full time job.
Her work has been recognized in major U.S. magazines such as "Generation Q" and "American Patchwork Quilting."
Pagliai said quilting keeps her hands busy. It gives her a chance to use her creative juices and try new things.
"I do a little bit of everything. I like it all so I try it all. I don't stick with one particular style. I just make what I like and hopefully other people will like it too," Pagliai said.
Pagliai also sews for major fabric companies throughout the country.
She also has her own quilt-design business..."Prairie Moon Quilts." If you want more information on her work click here.
