Hedrick Barbeque Days kicks off with pork dinner

The Hedrick Fire Department is having their annual pork dinner on Friday night

What a perfect weekend for the 54th annual Hedrick Barbeque Days!

The Hedrick Fire Department kicked off its annual pork barbeque dinner at 5 p.m. Friday.

The porkâ??s been slow cooking on the grill all day and theyâ??ll be serving until around 8:30.

This is the fire departmentâ??s biggest fundraiser of the year and the highlight for the kids comes tomorrow.

â??Tomorrow at 11 the fire will put on a water fight deal for all the little kids. They set up a water deal that goes back and forth. They get in teams, push this keg back and forth of that. They have a good time. We did it last year and we're going to do it again this year. And also tomorrow the Veteransâ?? Memorial will be open and we have an ice cream social at the Legion tomorrow night,â?? said Assistant Fire Chief Robert Crawford.

The Hedrick parade will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday.
