Help local teen singer go national
A local country music singer is asking for your help to get her to a national event.
Sydney Lambert, 17, a Kirksville High School FFA student and 2012 NEMO Idol winner, is one of four finalists in the running to sing the National Anthem at the National Cattlemen's Beef Association Convention and also at the Grand Ole Opry House in Nashville in February.
Sydney heard about the contest through her cousin and decided to give it a try and apply. A few weeks later she found out through e-mail that she had made it to the finals.
So how is she feeling about the experience so far?
"Excited. It's something I always wanted to do so I feel like I'm chasing my dream. I love to be a singer more than anything. This is a way for me to expand my horizons and try something new," Lambert said.
You can vote for Sydney once a day every day from now until December 13, 2013. Click here to vote.
Only the finalist with the most online votes wins.
