The 9th annual salad and dessert luncheon was held at the Adair county annex building. The event is held every year to raise money for the OATS organization which gives the elderly and other people in need rides to grocery stores and other locations they need to go. OATS charges the bare minimum for rides which is about 2 dollars one way and events like the one held today goes towards funding new vehicles.
â??OATS is general public transportation in the rural areas. We transport lots of people to medical appointments, grocery shopping, to eat, whatever they need to do,â?? said Beverly Wallick an OATS Driver.
â??Well last year we made about 500 dollars. I don't know we seem to have a bigger crowd this year. So, hopefully we'll beat that,â?? said Dixie Daffron an OATS customer.
