Help stamp out hunger

The Kirksville letter carriers are gearing up for a busy day.

This Saturday marks the tenth anniversary of Kirksvilleâ??s participation in the national Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive.

Blue plastic bags are being sent out this week.

These bags can be filled with non-perishable food donations and left next to your mailbox on Saturday, May 10th.

All donations will go directly to the local food bank. Monetary donations will also be accepted.

â??If everyone can pitch in and help we can stamp out hunger together, thatâ??s what it takes, togetherness, as a team to make this happen,â?? said Corey King, Kirksville Post Office Customer Service Supervisor.

Over sixteen-thousand pounds of food was collected during the food drive last year.
