The Kirksville Historic Preservation Commission met Wednesday night to discuss a variety of topics.
The Commission has decided to ask City Council for funding. That funding would go towards preserving and restoring historic homes that can be found in the area. The restoration would consist of fixing items such as windows and roofs.
"I'm not talking about any property, but one that we have officially accepted as a historic landmark in the city. We would make them eligible to get some monies from the city to help in restoration," said Brad Selby, of the Kirksville Preservation Commission.
Brad Selby will ask council for possible funding at the study session that is scheduled to be held Monday night. Also discussed at the meeting were properties that are to be approved to be listed on the National Register. Property applications are also available for those that need a historic landmark.
