Hogs 4 Dogs USA Benefit Ride this Sunday

Itâ??s time to rev up your engines!

This Sunday will mark the 10th annual Hogs4Dogs Benefit Ride in Ottumwa.

Last year, around 400 motorcyclists made the ride across southeast Iowa raising $18,000.

That money helped buy a couple of ballistic vests, one for the Ottumwa Police Department and one for the Fairfield Police Department. Additionally, the money helped with emergency vet care and spay and neuter services.

Organizers are very excited for this yearâ??s ride.

â??Lots of fun will be had on Sunday. We'll have, when they get here in the morning, they'll register. They can absolutely register the day of the event and they will go on a 140 mile ride. There will be scrabble stops along the way and they can come back for a meal and chance to win some cash,â?? said Tammie Hartley, Hogs 4 Dogs USA organizer.

The ride will begin at RJ Performance in Ottumwa at 10:30 a.m.

There will be a kick off at Courtside Bar and Grill on Friday night from 7 to 10 with celebrity bartenders, 50/50 drawings and firemen serving drinks.
