Holiday Nights 'N Lights preparing for opening night
Now that Halloween is over, many of us are already starting to think about the winter holidays.
And in Ottumwa, the Ottumwa Chamber of Commerce is getting ready to kick off its 8th season of Holiday Nights 'N Lights beginning November 17.
The nearly one-mile drive-thru display will be open seven days a week through December 28.
There are more than 300 different pieces with around 70 different displays.
â??The 200-foot lighted tunnel. We've got breathing, fire breathing dragons, we've got an enchanted forest, we have a candy shop. We have a lot of new surprises this year. Every year we try to move things around and bring in new displays and so we're really excited about that. And you know for three or four weeks it takes us, many many volunteers it takes us to set up. It's a lot of work and it's only $10 for a carload, which is a bargain,â?? said Terry McNitt, Ottumwa Chamber Director.
Discounted tickets are also available at any Elliott Oil location for $8 and you can also purchase a season pass for $40 at the Ottumwa Chamber office.
