Horse show at Wapello County 4H Expo

Wednesday was the first full day of the Wapello County 4H Expo. Along with many 4Hers displaying their projects and livestock at the Bridge Center in Ottumwa, they also hosted a horse show in Greater Ottumwa Park. There were almost 10 members showing horses. 4H Horse Committee Chairs say that showing horses teach kids about responsibility, companionship, and how to solve problems.

"It is a lot of work, so it's wonderful that they've put forth that effort and take pride in that," said the committee chairs. "They've been working all year up to this show to present all their hard work they've been putting into the horses."

They also encourage anyone who is interested in horses to join. Members do not even have to own a horse.
