Hundreds come out to find a job
Hundreds came out Tuesday in hopes of finding employment.
The Missouri Career Center held its first job fair of the year at the NEMO Fairgrounds in Kirksville Tuesday afternoon.
About 45 employers from Kirksville and northeast Missouri representing retail, manufacturing, health care, communications, education, government, and many more careers had booths and met with potential employees.
Despite the chilly and rainy weather outside, it didn't stop the event from having a great turnout.
"We had about 30-35 people waiting at the door at 11 (a.m.), and it's been a constant crowd since then , so it's been great," said Cathy Collop, development supervisor for the Missouri Career Center office in Kirksville.
About 300 people came out to give out resumes or fill out job applications. Some employers did interviews right on the spot at the fair.
The Missouri Career Center will hold another job fair in October. For more information click here or call (660) 785-2400.
