More than 100 people came out to walk toward a cure, for Multiple Sclerosis
There was a sea of orange at Stokes Stadium on Truman State University's campus, where people of all ages came together to walk, and support people living with MS in our community.
Walkers and runners had the opportunity to do a one mile walk or 5k run.
This is the first time kirksville held a Multiple Sclerosis walk, many of them are usually held Moberly and Columbia, Missouri.
"This is a great opportunity not only for us to raise awareness that ms is a disease, it's happening to your local people, but its also a great way for us to help insert fundraising , every dollar donated today goes to help find a cure for MS," said Renee Jones who is battling MS.
Volunteers and organizers said Sunday's walk helps keep people moving because having MS stops people from being active. They say this is just a kick off to an annual event.
