With the recent news of the retirement of IHCC President Jim Lindenmayer, the college has officially hired a new president, only the fourth president in the college's history.
Her name is Marlene Sprouse and she is no stranger to Indian Hills. She has been with the college for 13 years.
In her first two years, she was the dean at the Centerville campus then moved into the position of Vice President of Academic Affairs. Sprouse was promoted a few months ago to her current position as Executive Vice President of the college.
â??It is a really great opportunity. I am from southern Iowa and so this is a great thing for me to be able to serve the communities that Iâ??ve lived and worked in all of my life. And that was the other thing that I told the board, was to serve this institution and to serve them and to serve the community that we do provide education to from IHCC; that's one of the proudest things that I could do,â?? Sprouse said.
Sprouse said she has been involved in many of the initiatives that are already in place and much of the strategic plans. She looks forward to being able to work toward those things that have been identified as the very best pieces of the college.
Sprouse added she will begin in her new position as president later this year.
