Thu, 24 Apr 2014 22:05:09 GMT — Indian Hills students and staff are doing things this week to "Pay it Forward."Members of the basketball team spent time with gym classes at Wilson and James Elementary Schools.Assistant Coach Brandon Burette and three hills players spent the day playing basketball with students at James. Now that the players have wrapped up their season they are spending more time volunteering. On Thursday they showed the kids various types of basketball drills. Gym teacher Bonnie Cobbler had planned on playing soccer with her students today, but when she found out the Warrior basketball players were coming, she changed the lesson plan and let them take charge. Players Majok Deng, Savon Goodman and Quevyn Winters all participated in the fun. "Well it was the end of the season we have free time on our hands," Winters said. "We just wanted to come out and just thank all the little kids for supporting us and coming out to the games this season, so we just wanted to show them some drills and some things that can help make their basketball careers a little better."In a press release last week, we received word that the sophomore plans to play basketball for the University of Washington next school year.
