The Iowa Animal Rescue League is seeking donations after Fridayâ??s incident in Drakesville.

According to the Davis County Sheriffâ??s Office, approximately 60 deceased animals and 279 live animals were removed from the residence at 202 N. Washington Street. Heartland Humane Society of Ottumwa and the Iowa Animal Rescue League in Des Moines took the dozens of surviving animals into shelter.

â??Obviously when we have an influx of something like this, we have a lot of resources that are needed, so if anyone would like to donate to the Animal Rescue League, [monetary donations would] be great, and we can get these guys taken care of,â?? Josh Colvin, ARL Cruelty Intervention Coordinator said.

Roger Blew of Drakesville is charged with three counts of cruelty to animals. The Ottumwa Police Department told us Monday additional charges will be filed against Blew. That could happen as soon as Tuesday. To make a donation to the ARL, call 515-284-6905
