With the NEMO Fair in Kirksville this week there will be rides, food, entertainment, and of course...animals.
Monday, our cameras saw the first of rabbits, sheep and cows getting settled in their areas at the NEMO Fairgrounds.
Throughout this fair week, 4-H and FFA students will be showing their farm animals and projects at various shows to be judged and get the chance to win awards.
For many kids, this is the time of the year all their hard work through the school year pays off.
"The best part for me is the competition. I like the to see whom I am up against with my rabbits and chickens. I know how to improve by looking at other's animals and asking them the techniques about it," said Tatum Thomason, who shows chickens and rabbits.
The animal shows at the NEMO Fair kick off Tuesday with the sheep, lamb and poultry shows at 9 a.m.
The rabbit and beef shows will take place Wednesday at 8 a.m.
The swine show is taking place on Thursday at 8 a.m and the goat show will be at 10 a.m on Friday.
