Jacksonville woman killed in Boone County collision
BOONE COUNTY, Mo. —
A Friday morning collision in Boone County left a northern Missouri woman dead.
It happened at 7:30 a.m. near the intersection of Highways 63 and 124 in Boone County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol identifies the victim as Kimberly Schumann, 21, of Jacksonville, Missouri.
Troopers said Schumann swerved to miss a van that pulled into her path.
Her car then crossed the median where it collided with an oncoming car driven by Leah Ensor, 22, of Holliday, Missouri.
Ensor and her passenger, Jonathan Sauceda, 23, of Columbia, both suffered moderate injuries.
They were taken to a Columbia hospital for treatment.
Schumann was pronounced dead at the scene.
Emergency crews closed one northbound lane of Highway 63 for several hours.
