      Jaycee Park is re-opened after renovation

      Jaycee Park has a covered picnic shelter with electrical outlets, a basketball court, playground structure and a wading pool.

      Kirksville Parks and Recreation is planning a grand re-opening of a city park.

      Jaycee Park is located on North Osteopathy Street in Kirksville.

      It has been closed to the public while under reconstruction.

      Jaycee Park has a covered picnic shelter with electrical outlets, a basketball court, playground structure and a wading pool.

      The wading pool is also open to the public now.

      It will be open on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

      Recreation Specialist, Robin Harden, says there will be a celebration to kick off the re-opening.

      ??We are going to be celebrating the grand re-opening of the park with a block party next Saturday, the 21st, from 6-8 p.m. at Jaycee Park,?? said Harden.

      The basketball court has been relocated.

      There is also a new playground with fresh grass and dirt to level and correct previous drainage issues.
