Jefferson County Health Center Foundation hosting fundraiser for diabetes screening, education

The JCHC Foundation puts on the auction in support of free diabetes education and screening in the community.
Mon, 31 Mar 2014 22:08:54 GMT — New at the Jefferson County Health Center this week is a fundraiser for diabetes education and screening.Nearly 20 Easter baskets are now on display in the hospital's lobby for a silent auction. The JCHC Foundation puts on the auction in support of free diabetes education and screening in the community. Classes and screening are held every month. Everyone is welcomed to stop by the health center to bid on the baskets and support the cause. "This is the second year we've done it," Ginny Hughes, JHCH Foundation Board Member said. "We've had a great deal of success we have beautiful baskets donated from people all over the community and our hospital staff members, so there's things from gardening supplies to toys for boys and we have a girls' theme basket. We have a sewing basket. We have a cooking basket, so we have a variety of things." The silent auction will go until April 10th at 5 p.m. winners will be called next Friday to pick up their baskets.
