Jury chosen for Cinema X murder trial

Police say Bruce Pollard has acknowledged killing Kenneth McDaniel

The Cinema X murder trial is underway in Ottumwa.

Defense attorneys have said they will be arguing that Bruce Pollard was temporarily insane when, police say, Pollard killed the manager of an adult theater in Ottumwa.

Investigators say Pollard entered the theater in March 2012 and struck 70-year-old Kenneth McDaniel with a pry bar and choked him.

The jury of 10 men and 4 women have been selected to hear the case at the Wapello County Courthouse.

Pollard is charged with first-degree murder and robbery. Police say Pollard has acknowledged killing McDaniel, then stealing cash and pornographic material.
