A group of bluegrass musicians have made their way to Missouri for a few performances.

With Kirksville having a long history of bluegrass roots, Karla Campbell decided to bring her mentees to the area for a week.

The bluegrass group members are from various cities in Kansas.

There are male and female members of various ages.

Friday, the group performed at Summer on the Square in downtown Kirksville.

??We've got these young people... they range in age from eleven to almost 18. These people have been playing together for five years. Some of them have only been playing for a year. We??ve got some great instrumental songs. We??ve got some good vocal tunes. They??ve learned harmonies and we're just going to have a great time on the square tonight,?? said Campbell.

The group will perform Saturday night at the Black Diamond jubilee in Macon.
