The late summer heat wave is continuing across the Heartland and is making those who work outside take precautions.
KTVO went around Kirksville Wednesday to see how outdoor workers have been dealing with the 90 degree plus temperatures all week.
A few workers told us off camera that are all being very careful with the heat to prevent any type of heat disorder or illness while out on the job.
Workers are taking precautions including drinking lots of water, taking frequent breaks and trying to stay under the shade as much as possible.
Workers can't wait for a nice cool down to happen to make it easier for them to be outside.
Temperatures are expected to continue staying in the 90's through the Labor Day weekend before finally cooling down to the 80's next week.
A Heat Advisory is in effect until 7 p.m. Friday.
