One Heartland community was celebrating a big milestone for a 175th birthday.
That celebration was happening in Keosauqua. Members of the community spent the afternoon in the City Park relaxing and listening to a performance by the 'Tarnished Brass Band'. Kids were also able to have some fun by participating in a special parade just for them and by riding their bikes. The celebration concluded with free ice cream and birthday cake to help celebrate the milestone for the town.
"It's a wonderful town, wonderful community, and it's just great to celebrate 175 years," said Susan Wasko, of the Keosauqua Chamber of Commerce.
Unfortunately do to Saturdays heavy rainfall, other celebration events for the town had to be canceled.
