The Kirksville Fire Department responded to a call of a fire at Kraft Heinz late Wednesday morning.

Three fire trucks and an ambulance arrived on the scene shortly after 11 a.m.

On scene, the fire department said there was a small fire, but later told KTVO there was no fire, but a welding accident led to overheating of the roof located toward the back of the building.

The overheating of the roof created insulation to smolder, which was extinguished on arrival, according to KFD.

KFD gave the clear after thermal cameras were used to assess the removed insulation.

No injuries were reported.
