Wed, 02 Jul 2014 14:06:21 GMT — Fourth of July is this Friday, but before your family celebrates, Kirksville Fire Department wants to make sure everyone stays safe. Capt. Joe Schilling stopped by the set of Good Morning Heartland to share some safety tips. WATCH VIDEO ABOVE to learn more. The discharging of fireworks inside the city limits of Kirksville will be legal starting June 30th and continue through July 5th. Individuals may only discharge fireworks between the hours of 9am and 11pm on their own property. However, if a complaint is received and verified by the police department for disturbance of the peace of surrounding neighbors, discharging of fireworks will immediately cease and a citation may be issued by the responding officers.
