Kids can come out to Thousand Hills to learn to fish this weekend
A fishing tradition is back for the 31st year in a row.
The annual Bass 'N Kids Fishing Classic is coming up this Saturday at Thousand Hills State Park. The event begins at 8:30 a.m. at Forest Lake.
There will be a fishing clinic conducted by the Missouri Department of Conservation Fisheries Biologist Mike Anderson.
Tournament Organizer John McConnell said this event is always fun for both kids and adults.
"We've been doing this for 31 years. I have kids who have now grown up and are adults and they're bringing their own kids out to the thing. So it's gone into the second generation of this kids tournament," McConnell said.
The tournament and clinic is open to all girls and boys up to the age of 15.
There will be plenty of door prizes and refreshments and the best part is it's all free.
