Kids getting to race turtles for the fun of it

The annual Turtle Races took place Tuesday morning at the NEMO Fair.

Kids got to rock a few reptiles at the NEMO Fair Tuesday as the fair's annual Turtle Races took place in the Lions Building at the fairgrounds.

Kids ages five to 10 gathered to pick their own turtle to race. Some brought their own while some turtles were provided to the kids.

For all the kids involved, this is one of their favorite events of the fair.

After the kids got the chance to meet and bond with their turtle, it was race time.

There's not much strategy to making the turtle respond. The kids either stomped their feet or allowed the turtle to go down the row by itself. Some turtles were faster than others.

But no matter the outcome, every kid went home a winner.
